You’ve built the thing - or are en route - and nobody knows yet. The prize is not visibility, it’s relevance: being desired, the “where have you been all my life, we’ve been waiting” kind. The risk is being described by someone else first, and not as well: a competitor’s framing, a journalist’s shorthand, a category label that makes you sound like a smaller version of an incumbent. We set the name, the look, the story and the press together, before launch rather than after. A launch narrative you have to correct later costs more than the one you chose on purpose.
Usually: Strategy · Identity · Story · Reputation
